KIEHLS MEET UP HAUL..

So as I mentioned in my last blog post, I went to a meet up with Hello October and I Covet Thee at the Kiehls store in Regent Street. I've always wanted to try some Kiehls skincare, and it was the perfect time to purchase a few things as they were offering 20% off!

As I got to speak to a dermatologist at the event, it really helped me understand what products would help my skin and what my skin type really is.

The first product I purchased was the hydro-plumping re-texturising serum concentrate. It's really great for adding moisture to your skin. It is supposed to minimise pores and smooth your skin from any fine lines and impurities. It's a really strange consistency, it's more like a gel and it sinks into the skin really quickly. I put it on morning and night before I moisturise and so far i'm really enjoying using it.

I also purchased the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I've heard a lot about this product and I love using oil on my skin so I thought i'd give it a go. I put this on after my serum and before my moisturiser, and only at night. As the dermatologist said, your skin does all of its repairing and recovery at night. Using the product will even your skin out and ensure that it looks clearer and glowing. I really love the smell of this product, it smells kind of herbal and mediciney (is that even a word?!) and really feels like it's fixing my skin.

Lastly, I purchased the Blue Herbal Spot Treatment. The dermatologist said that everyone should have one of these in their skincare cupboard. It's a gel consistency and it really stings when you put it on a spot... But I kind of like that because I feel like it's doing something good!

Additionally, we also got a mini goodie bag to take away with us which was amazing. In the goodie bag were travel sizes of the Ultra Facial Moisturiser (which is amazing and i'm definitely going to buy the full size!), The Ultimate Strength Hand Salve and The Nourishing Body Moisturiser.

So overall i'm so happy with the products that I purchased. If you have sensitive, spot prone but slightly dry skin like mine.. then these products are definitely worth giving a go. Please feel free to ask any questions to have about the products! Have you tried any Kiehls products? What are your favourites?

KIEHLS MEET UP WITH ICOVETTHEE AND HELLO OCTOBER..

I was lucky enough to win tickets to meet two of my favourite beauty bloggers I Covet Thee and Hello October. It was so overwhelming and exciting, and I felt so lucky to be able to attend the event. They both came across so down to earth and relatable, which is obviously why I love to watch their videos..

It felt so surreal actually meeting them in person. As I watch their daily vlogs and beauty videos so frequently, it already felt like I knew them and they were so friendly and exactly as I thought they would be. It was also so amazing for the event to be held at Kiehls. I have been interested in the brand for a while, and have always been eager to try some of their skincare. I got a real insight into the brand at the event last night, and got the chance to speak to a dermatologist which was so helpful and really helped me understand what my skin needed. I ended up splurging on some skincare, but that all will be coming in a blog post very soon.. so keep your eyes peeled..

MY THOUGHTS ON BLOGGING..

Everybody is blogging these days..  Over the past few years it has become insanely popular and a great way to express opinions, thoughts and reviews. A lot of people seem to come across biased and negative when talking about blogging, and often mock it by making out that it can't be a career and it's all a load of crap. However, I couldn't disagree more.

I think by creating a blog it really allows you to share your opinions, enthuse about your passions if it's fashion, beauty, food, travel and communicate with other people who also share your interests. I don't think you should take blogging too seriously.. you should always start it as a hobby, as something you enjoy and not as something you 'have' to do or try to make money out of it because it just won't work.

Once you start to build up a few readers of your blog, it really drives you to keep going and create amazing content consistently. That really is something that I love about blogging, it can be so rewarding and you can meet some great people through it.

So, whenever anybody talks about possibly starting a blog I would always encourage them to do so. Even if it doesn't work out, or you don't enjoy it there is no harm in giving it a go.

What are your thoughts on blogging? Is it a phase or here to stay?

NOVEMBER FAVOURITES..

So, my November favourites are finally up. I've been a bit rubbish with blog posts over the past two weeks because of uni work, my part time job and general life.. sorry! But i'm back to normal now and I will be posting at least twice a week..

I found it quite difficult to think of my favourite items this month as i've been so distracted by my uni work, but i've managed to cut it down to 6 products that i've constantly been using and loving over November.

So, first of all I knew I had to include the Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick in shade 45.. it is such a gorgeous nude, with slight a brown undertone. I prefer my nudes to be slightly more brown as they suit my skin tone more than pinky nudes. It's such a creamy, comfortable consistency and for £5.49 you really can't go wrong..

I've been wearing this Rimmel lipliner in cappuccino underneath the Kate Moss lipstick constantly because it adds more staying power and even more of a brown undertone to your lips. The lipliner is definitely one to rival Mac lipliners.. they are so smooth and easy to apply. Also, they are only £3.99! If you scroll down to the bottom of this post there is a picture of me wearing this lip combo so you can get an idea of what they look like..

So i've really been loving drugstore make up at the moment as my next favourite is the Maybelline colour tattoo cream eyeshadow in the shade 'On and on bronze'. These things are bloody amazing.. they are so quick and easy, you can literally swipe some of the product on your lid and your good to go.. Another of my favourite shades in this product is 'Creamy beige'. Definitely check these ones out.

Moving on from make up, I actually have a favourite deodorant this month. I've heard a lot about Mitchum and I thought i'd give it a go. The scent is really lovely, it's not an artificial smell but more fresh and soapy. The lasting power of this deodorant is amazing, it lasts all day which is obviously a plus..
Additionally, another scent i've been loving is The Body Shop White Musk. This scent really reminds me of my early teens. I think it's because I used to have it when I was about 12/13. I really love soft, musky smells and it's such a great everyday perfume.

Lastly.. The cactus. I just love them. They add such a cool, minimal look to a room. I now have two in my room, and two succulents. It's getting a tad excessive. You don't really need to look after them, and they don't die easily. Whats not to love?

WHITE CHOCOLATE DIPPED CRANBERRY PECAN OATMEAL COOKIES..

I found this idea on Pinterest and had to re create it, and they taste so amazing. They're super easy to do..

Ingredients..
1 3/4 cups of plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup of sugar
2 big bars of white chocolate
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups cranberries
1 egg
1 1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup pecans
1 cup salted butter

1. Preheat oven to 180
2. Beat butter and sugars together until well combined.
3. Add egg and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
4. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon and mix until well combined.
5. Add oats and mix until a thick dough forms.
6. Stir in cranberries and pecan pieces.
7. Place heaping tablespoon-sized balls of cookie dough onto a parchment lined cookie sheet.
8. Bake 8-9 minutes. Cookies may look a little undercooked in the center, but the continue to cook and firm as they cool. Do not over bake. If cookies look cooked (not a little undercooked) when you take them out, they are probably overcooked.
9. Let cookies cool for about 2 minutes on the cookie sheet, then remove to cooling rack to finish cooling.
10. Once cookies are cool, melt white chocolate in a small bowl.
11. Dip cookies, one at a time, into white chocolate and shake to remove excess. Set on parchment paper to dry. Sprinkle with crushed pecans before the candiquick dries, if desired.

WINTER WARMERS UPDATE..

So, this coat is my current obsession. It is such amazing quality and looks so much more expensive than it really was. It's a great Acne Shearling jacket dupe, but about an eighth of the price..... It's from Stradivarius and it was only £55.99. It's super thick and cosy, and keeps me so warm. It hasn't actually been cold at all in London, but i've been wearing it anyway because I love it that much! It really toughens up any outfit, but manages to add a slightly chic touch as well. It's definitely a wardrobe staple for me this winter!

A WEEK AWAY IN THE SUN..

So i've just recently got back from a week away in Menorca and let's just say i'm feeling slightly depressed to be back in cold dark England. It was so lovely to escape from my everyday routine and chill all day everyday. We often went into Mahon during our visit, which is the capital of Menorca. It is a really lovely city (its absolutely tiny!) with so many gorgeous little boutiques and shops. It was also slightly cheaper over there..which means I may have bought a few new bits..

I've just got to add as well... the coffee out there was so so good! So if you're ever in Menorca definitely try the coffee because its incredible!

WHAT I WORE:
Top: Zara
Cullottes: Zara
Trainers: Adidas Stan Smiths
Bag: River Island
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters

MY THREE FAVOURITE AUTUMN LIPSTICKS..

Autumn is probably my favourite season.. (okay maybe second to Summer?!).. especially when it comes to make up looks. I love darker lipsticks, smokey eye looks and plum coloured blushers. I've somehow managed to narrow my favourite autumn lipsticks down to 3. These are the lipsticks that are my 'go-tos' in the autumn winter time.. and I shall explain more if you keep reading ..

So.. Mac - Whirl. What a beautiful shade. I have loved the lipliner version of this for a while, and I have fallen in love with the lipstick. It's a dark brown rosy colour and it looks so gorgeous on. It's so perfect for just during the day, but I can also wear it for a night out too. If you have never swatched this .. go to your nearest Mac now and do it!

Obviously I had to include a berry shade in my fav lipsticks collection! To be honest, I prefer to wear nudes and neutral colours on my lips. But, if I had to choose one of my favourite berry shades.. it would be this Topshop lipstick in 'The Damned'. It looks so much darker in the tube, but it's actually a really lovely raspberry, plum shade on the lips. Really lovely texture, and so affordable too.

Lastly, I had to go for Maybelline - Coffee Craze. This is such a lovely soft brown shade, and so easy to wear. I really love Maybelline lipsticks, they're super affordable and one of my favourite drugstore brands.

THE PERFECT WINTER BOOTS..

I mentioned these beautiful boots in my YouTube haul video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFiLJ3y-t7w) and I personally thought they deserved their own blog post.. because I love them that much..

They are real leather, so they are super comfortable to wear. They just seem to make any outfit look amazing. They have a block heel so they are still easy to walk in and they add just a little bit of height which I quite like. The detail that I love most about these boots is the fringing and studs on the boots, they are just so eye catching and I've had so many compliments and questions about where they are from..

I think they look like they could be designer shoes, but amazingly they are from New Look. Yes, New Look! New Look have seriously upped their game, their premium collection is gorgeous with some real staple pieces. The boots were £64.99, which for real leather boots, I think is pretty amazing. Go and check them out before they sell out!

MAKE UP PRODUCTS I'VE USED UP..

So this blog post is a follow up from the previous one. I've used up so many products recently, I thought i'd split it into two so it wasn't too overwhelming! So, as I did in the previous post, I will be reviewing these products and discussing whether I will be repurchasing them..

This Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is a holy grail product for me, I have and will continue to repurchase this until I find something more fabulous. I recommend anyone who hasn't tried this out, to go to your nearest boots and buy it! It covers dark circles, spots/blemishes, hyper pigmentation.. it will cover anything. It's not cakey, it's almost quite glowing and smooth on my skin.

To be honest, I wasn't overly keen on this L'oreal true match concealer. I didn't like the applicator.. it was quite hard and not spongey enough so it didn't distribute the product well on my face. It just didn't sit as well on my skin as the Collection one does..

I really really liked this L'oreal Miss Manga Punky mascara (long name!). If you like thick, super black, almost clumpy (but in a nice way haha?!) lashes, then you'll love this. It holds a curl really well and adds a really 'doll eyes' look to your make up.

This product in the image is a tester pot for the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. This tester actually lasted me for ages, and I loved the foundation! It is pricey.. £35 for a foundation may not be to everyones taste. But, in the last 8 months it was reformulated, so there is one for dry skin and one for oily skin. I tested the dry skin version and it really did make my skin look glowy and flawless.

I heard so many beauty bloggers rave about this Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation if you have dry-normal skin and you like a dewy finish. It sounded like the perfect one for me.. and I do love it. I've already repurchased another bottle. When applied with a beauty blender, it looks so natural, but it just perfects your skin.

I have completely hit pan on this blusher, there is literally no product left. I really liked this Max Factor Creme Puff blush. I actually have 3 shades as I love it that much. The shade above is 'Nude Mauve' and it looks lovely on my skin tone. You can use this product as a highlighter, two products in one? Even better.

I know this product isn't make up, but I thought i'd include in this post anyway. Again, I really liked this product and have already repurchased another. I think 1 second is a slight exaggeration.. but it does remove my nail varnish in about 5-6 seconds. It lasts a long time, although it does start to get really clogged up with nail varnish after a while. Definitely worth trying out!

PS - I just wanted to add something on the end of this post.. I'm now going to have specific days where I'm going to put up blog posts. Those days will be Sundays and Tuesdays. So look out on those days more new content! :)

EMPTY SKINCARE PRODUCTS I'VE USED..

This post is just going to be an overview of the skincare products I have used up over the past few months. I've made a decision on whether I will repurchase the products or not, and I will explain further down below ...

This product seemed lasted me a long time. I did enjoy using it, but personally I prefer using a facial oil to remove my make up. Sometimes I feel that a micellar water can dry out my skin and doesn't remove my eye make up as well. However I do like having a micellar water in my make up stash for when I can't be bothered to use an oil and I want to remove my make up quickly. I probably wouldn't repurchase this product right away, as I'm tempted to try out other cleansing waters.

I love this product and I will continue repurchasing it until it is discontinued (which hopefully it never does!). The Body Shop does skincare so well, and as I have sensitive skin it caters to that so well. It's not greasy on the skin, and it makes my face super soft after as well. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Personally, I don't think a toner is vital in everyones skincare routine. But, I love Lush skincare products and I've heard tea tree is good for spot prone skin. I enjoyed using this.. but I didn't see a difference in my skin. It felt nice spritzing it on my face morning and evening, but definitely not a must.

I love trying out different serums, and this is a good one. It has glycolic acid in it which is great for renewing the skin cells, especially if you have problem skin. It's not too harsh on the skin, but it makes my face seem a lot clearer and it helps reduce any redness.

I really like this primer. I hate siliconey face primers as I have dry skin, but this one feels moisturising on my face. I notice a difference with my make up when I don't wear it. I've already repurchased my next tube of this! The only thing I would say is that it doesn't last a long time, but it doesn't break the bank so I don't mind repurchasing it often..

I wasn't overly keen on this moisturiser. I do like a rich, creamy moisturiser but not for the day time. It was too thick and I could feel it on my face. Also, my make up didn't apply well over the top of this, so I won't be repurchasing this.
