STELLA & DOT

How gorgeous is this jewellery?! It's perfect. Dainty yet it makes a statement. The Stella & Dot collection is eclectic, which is probably why is appeals to so many different ages. I was lucky enough to go and check out the whole collection and pick out some favourites to blog about..

I mostly wear silver jewellery, I just think it goes with more and I'm not into that really yellowy gold look. I pretty much only wear really minimal pieces, that's why these Stella & Dot items are my current go-to. I think my favourite out of what i've picked out has to the be the Luna Pendant Necklace. I love how it's silver & gold but it still manages to look classy and minimal. The earrings I picked out are so delicate and unusual, I normally just wear plain silver hoops but I'm really into the Pave Triangle Ear Climbers below and especially the Triangle Ear Jacket in Rose Gold.

After picking out these pieces I'm now wearing jewellery a lot more and accessorising my outfits with a mix of gold and silver jewellery. Another piece from Stella & Dot which is bloody gorgeous is the Simple Knot Cuff , it adds a really simple yet elegant look and it looks amazing next to my Olivia Burton watch. In. Love.

I'm so thankful that I got to check out the collection and get some more information about the brand, thanks to Claire. If you are interested in checking out any of these pieces or the whole Stella & Dot collection then head over to www.stelladot.co.uk/clairecharalambos

HOLIDAY LOOKBOOK: PART 2

I feel like this might be my favourite summer dress ever. It's so different, and people always comment on how lovely it is. It's not my usual style as it's so colourful and bright, however during the summer I like to steer away from neutral colours. I feel good in this dress, I wish I could wear it all year round (according to current English weather, I can't wear it at all!) I got this from Asos but it's actually from River Island.
River Island isn't somewhere I usually shop, but sometimes they do have the odd gem that I can't not have.

This New Look 'handkerchief' dress is the perfect sassy evening number for a holiday. It's flattering on, but also so comfy and you can eat endless carbs without it showing. I paired it with grey sliders and my bright red (very heavy!) topshop earrings, which really add something to the outfit and make it less plain. Then of course my multicoloured tassel bag from Glamorous, which was my go-to on my Cyprus trip.

How perfect is this playsuit?! As soon as I saw it on the Zara website I knew it would look be my favourite holiday piece. It looks amazing when you have a tan, and it shows off all your best bits. Sadly it's not warm enough to wear this in England, so I'm already excited for my summer holiday next year so I can wear this again...

HOLIDAY LOOKBOOK, PART 1:

My personal style is chilled anyway, but when I'm on holiday I like to be comfy and wearing something airy most of the time, but still stylish. The outfit above is my go to chilling round the pool attire. When I was away I was in swimwear constantly, but sometimes I would chuck on a t-shirt over the top. The one I'm wearing I picked up in BLITZ vintage in Brick Lane (typical) and it's perfect! So comfy, but has that really cool vibe as well. They has so many different colours and styles, so if you're after something similar definitely check Blitz out!

I like swimwear that can also be versatile. The above swimsuit is from New Look and is so flattering. The low back and criss cross detail is beautiful and obviously the off-white/cream really shows off your tan. I chucked on some vintage lee shorts and this was the perfect lunch outfit.

These shorts are probably the most colourful things I own. They're from River Island and they're the perfect holiday piece. I wear them over this gorgeous Oh Polly bikini (check them out for amazing high leg bikinis), the colour of this set is really different and looked lovely against my skin tone. I love this outfit and kind of wish I could get away with it in the U.K but sadly that's just not going to happen...

I'll be posting part 2 of my holiday lookbook next week so make sure you keep an eye out for that. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

YELLOW SUNNIES AND FEELING INSECURE

So, I gave in and bought some of those weird 'peodophile-esque' yellow aviator sunglasses. There is just something about them which personally I think is quite cool. Sometimes I catch myself in the mirror and think 'what ARE you doing?!' but I think they're alright and when worn with the right thing, they make an outfit.

The weather is actually pretty good in England right now, it's warm and we've had quite a few really sunny days. Here I'm wearing a long wide legged black jumpsuit, I picked this up in the New York Brandy Melville last summer and it is still a firm favourite. It's really flattering, and the back is super pretty (I know my bra is on show but I don't really mind that look!) I think it looks so chilled and casual just worn with trainers or some sliders. It's a great 'pub evening' outfit.

I wanted to touch on a few struggles I've been dealing with over the past couple of weeks. I've struggled with self confidence and feeling overly insecure. I'll catch myself in the mirror and feel deflated for the rest of the day, or I'll see a picture of me or attempt to take a nice selfie after I've spent an hour doing my make-up but.. no luck. Don't get me wrong, I have days where I feel like this but I've never really felt like this constantly and I've never allowed it to really affect my mood or confidence.

A major aspect of this is comparison. Comparison is an awful thing. You should never compare yourself to others but, realistically we all do it to an extent. I'll be out and a girl will walk past and my instant thoughts will be 'her skin is so clear, why isn't mine like that?' or 'her hair falls perfectly round her face and mine is flat and shit'. It's horrible and I know that I'm doing it but I can't stop it. Social media is also a major player. I work in social media and I'm aware of how beneficial it can be.. however for your own self-confidence, it can be disastrous. Seeing all these glowing, lip plumped, long lashed women with crazy abs and peachy bums can be well, soul destroying at times.

I think now I've got to the point where I've acknowledged the way I'm feeling and what is making me feel like this, I need to decide what to do to help. Nothing is going to cure or stop it, I just need to accept it. Once you can accept yourself, you feel a lot happier. You need to accept that sometimes you will look like shit, and your skin will break out, and your hair will be flat, you will look a little bloated (or a lot) and you eyeliner will be wonky. That is fine. I'm really hoping this doesn't sound to cheesy or cliche, this is just really how I'm feeling and I thought by writing it all down into a blog post could also help others who are feeling the same as me.

Please do let me know if you're going through a similar thing and what you think helps?!
Life can be shit, but not all the time.
