I know everyone was hating on 2016 maybe a little too much, but if I'm honest it wasn't an overly great year for me. I had a couple of really amazing things happen, but the lows were, pretty low. I think I have learnt a lot, and in a way I am glad some of the bad things happened because it allowed me to learn or realise certain things. In a positive way (not to be overly cringey and cliche) but I did have some really good times with some lovely people, also I graduated from the university I used to dream about going to. Then I managed to get my ideal job, which I'm so thankful for and still can't quite get my head around it. There's not much point focussing on the negatives.
I think I've got to an age now that I've realised that nobody cares as much about your business as you do.. does that make sense? Basically, you should try and put yourself first (not all the time, but most of the time) and focus on your overall happiness. This is your life, not anyone else's, so what does it matter that people don't approve of your choices or decisions?
Things I have learnt this year
- Don't worry about the opinions of others, they're irrelevant most of the time
- Trust your own instincts
- Not everyone is going to be happy for you
- Not everyone is going to like you
- Cherish people that truly care about you
- Don't trust many people
Goals for 2017
- Stay really focussed at work and be creative
- Always be honest
- Don't waste time on people who don't care about you
- Try and be positive
- Be more careful with money (spend more of it on going places!)
- Stop worrying so much
I hope this was an enjoyable read for you, if you got this far. I am going to try and blog/make youtube videos a bit more regularly, it is difficult to fit it around an full time job though. But I really do enjoy doing it, so I am going to make the time and make sure it happens.
