KIEHLS MEET UP HAUL..

So as I mentioned in my last blog post, I went to a meet up with Hello October and I Covet Thee at the Kiehls store in Regent Street. I've always wanted to try some Kiehls skincare, and it was the perfect time to purchase a few things as they were offering 20% off!

As I got to speak to a dermatologist at the event, it really helped me understand what products would help my skin and what my skin type really is.

The first product I purchased was the hydro-plumping re-texturising serum concentrate. It's really great for adding moisture to your skin. It is supposed to minimise pores and smooth your skin from any fine lines and impurities. It's a really strange consistency, it's more like a gel and it sinks into the skin really quickly. I put it on morning and night before I moisturise and so far i'm really enjoying using it.

I also purchased the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I've heard a lot about this product and I love using oil on my skin so I thought i'd give it a go. I put this on after my serum and before my moisturiser, and only at night. As the dermatologist said, your skin does all of its repairing and recovery at night. Using the product will even your skin out and ensure that it looks clearer and glowing. I really love the smell of this product, it smells kind of herbal and mediciney (is that even a word?!) and really feels like it's fixing my skin.

Lastly, I purchased the Blue Herbal Spot Treatment. The dermatologist said that everyone should have one of these in their skincare cupboard. It's a gel consistency and it really stings when you put it on a spot... But I kind of like that because I feel like it's doing something good!

Additionally, we also got a mini goodie bag to take away with us which was amazing. In the goodie bag were travel sizes of the Ultra Facial Moisturiser (which is amazing and i'm definitely going to buy the full size!), The Ultimate Strength Hand Salve and The Nourishing Body Moisturiser.

So overall i'm so happy with the products that I purchased. If you have sensitive, spot prone but slightly dry skin like mine.. then these products are definitely worth giving a go. Please feel free to ask any questions to have about the products! Have you tried any Kiehls products? What are your favourites?

KIEHLS MEET UP WITH ICOVETTHEE AND HELLO OCTOBER..

I was lucky enough to win tickets to meet two of my favourite beauty bloggers I Covet Thee and Hello October. It was so overwhelming and exciting, and I felt so lucky to be able to attend the event. They both came across so down to earth and relatable, which is obviously why I love to watch their videos..

It felt so surreal actually meeting them in person. As I watch their daily vlogs and beauty videos so frequently, it already felt like I knew them and they were so friendly and exactly as I thought they would be. It was also so amazing for the event to be held at Kiehls. I have been interested in the brand for a while, and have always been eager to try some of their skincare. I got a real insight into the brand at the event last night, and got the chance to speak to a dermatologist which was so helpful and really helped me understand what my skin needed. I ended up splurging on some skincare, but that all will be coming in a blog post very soon.. so keep your eyes peeled..

EMPTY SKINCARE PRODUCTS I'VE USED..

This post is just going to be an overview of the skincare products I have used up over the past few months. I've made a decision on whether I will repurchase the products or not, and I will explain further down below ...

This product seemed lasted me a long time. I did enjoy using it, but personally I prefer using a facial oil to remove my make up. Sometimes I feel that a micellar water can dry out my skin and doesn't remove my eye make up as well. However I do like having a micellar water in my make up stash for when I can't be bothered to use an oil and I want to remove my make up quickly. I probably wouldn't repurchase this product right away, as I'm tempted to try out other cleansing waters.

I love this product and I will continue repurchasing it until it is discontinued (which hopefully it never does!). The Body Shop does skincare so well, and as I have sensitive skin it caters to that so well. It's not greasy on the skin, and it makes my face super soft after as well. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Personally, I don't think a toner is vital in everyones skincare routine. But, I love Lush skincare products and I've heard tea tree is good for spot prone skin. I enjoyed using this.. but I didn't see a difference in my skin. It felt nice spritzing it on my face morning and evening, but definitely not a must.

I love trying out different serums, and this is a good one. It has glycolic acid in it which is great for renewing the skin cells, especially if you have problem skin. It's not too harsh on the skin, but it makes my face seem a lot clearer and it helps reduce any redness.

I really like this primer. I hate siliconey face primers as I have dry skin, but this one feels moisturising on my face. I notice a difference with my make up when I don't wear it. I've already repurchased my next tube of this! The only thing I would say is that it doesn't last a long time, but it doesn't break the bank so I don't mind repurchasing it often..

I wasn't overly keen on this moisturiser. I do like a rich, creamy moisturiser but not for the day time. It was too thick and I could feel it on my face. Also, my make up didn't apply well over the top of this, so I won't be repurchasing this.

MY EVERYDAY SKINCARE ROUTINE

So recently, I've found my perfect skincare routine that really works for me. I have dry/sensitive/spot prone skin, and I've always struggled with finding products that don't aggravate or cause more problems for my skin. Over the past year I've been trying out endless products, from high end to drug store, and these are my top four products...

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil.

I use this product to take my make up off every day. It's so gentle on the skin, but it removes every single bit of make up off my face and makes my skin feel so clean and soft. It even manages to remove waterproof mascara! It smells amazing and it's not super expensive, I can't imagine my skin care routine without it.

Una Brennan Salicylic Acid Cleansing Wash.

I heard so much about the Una Brennan range in the blogging world and I was so eager to try her stuff out, as I know the products are targeted to spot prone skin. I use this product about 3 times a week after I cleanse my skin. It does feel like the product really gives my skin a deep cleanse and gets all the dirt and impurities out. If I use this product too many times in a week, it does dry my skin out. But overall I do feel like this product has helped improve my skins overall appearance.

Rosehip Facial Oil.

I have family that live in Somerset, and the nearest village to them has so many lovely little boutiques. One of them is called 'Herbs on the hill' which is so similar to Lush. I've heard that Rosehip Oil is amazing for spot prone skin, making your skins texture a lot smoother and helping hyper pigmentation. There is a lot of hype around the Liz Earle SuperSkin Concentrate Oil which contains Rose Hip Oil, so I thought I'd give pure Rose Hip Oil a go! I put it on after my serum, and it feels incredible on my skin. After about 3/4 days of using it I started to notice a difference on my skin, the texture of it was smoother and any spots I had started to fade.

Indeed Labs Pepta Bright

I heard about this product from one of my favourite bloggers 'thepersianbabe' as she also has problem skin. Whenever I have a spot, I put a little bit of this on overnight and then the next day it would have faded a significant amount. I can't imagine now being without this product as it's helped my skin so much!

NOVEMBER HAUL..IN PICTURES ♥

So, I actually need to be banned from shopping, because it's getting out of hand. I simply cannot stop myself. But oh well, I bought some pretty things. I've been feeling stressed out recently because of the amount of uni work I have, so I decided to buy myself some christmas presents (yes that is my excuse).

So first of all I headed to Lush..

Lush have all of their new Christmas stuff in and I really could not resist myself. Also, I just love their products in general, I find they really work with my skin and I love the ingredients they use in their products. So I picked up some skin care stuff too. I've recently ran out of my chocolate face mask tub thing so I wanted to get myself a new one!

I bought the 'BB Seaweed' fresh face mask and you have to keep it in the fridge otherwise it will go off. The lovely man in Lush recommended this one if I wanted to brighten up my skin and make my skin super soft, which sounded good to me. It smells a bit minty..and also a bit like oatmeal or porridge. Not the nicest of scents but hopefully it'll do the job.

Secondly, I picked up 'The Mask Of Magnaminty'. It smells so minty which I think will make my skin feel so clean and fresh. If you have skin that is prone to sometimes breaking out (which mine is) this stuff is supposed to help keep spots at bay. I'm looking forward to giving this one a go.

Moving onto the Christmas stuff, I HAD to pick this one up. It's called 'The Christmas Penguin'. He's so cute, and the John Lewis advert made me love penguins even more. This one is definitely called Monty. (If you haven't watched the John Lewis advert go and watch it now and you'll get what i'm going on about). He smells like the traditional powdery soapy smell which I love. This one is a bubble bar, which means it will last you several baths! You simply break bits off and crumble it under the bath and it will make your bath all bubbly and smell delicious!

Then finally this one. Which blogger has NOT talked about this?! It's called 'Holly go Lightly'. I've seen this bubble bar all over the blogesphere and YouTube! I want to see what all the fuss is about. All I can see is it smells exactly like Christmas. If you drink Chai lattes, then you'll know what I mean. I currently have glitter EVERYWHERE but I don't care because I love glitter and it's so god damn pretty!

Moving onto fashion bits..

I picked up these super cool brogues from New Look, and they were only £17.99. I work in New Look, so I often see what comes in and what I like and want to buy. As soon as I saw these I loved them and so look really smart on. They are actually really comfy, much comfier than I thought and I know i'm going to get loads of wear out of these.

The next thing is this light grey leather kind of skater skirt from River Island. I'm not 100% whether to keep this or not. I think I need to try it on with a few different outfits. I just thought it looked really cute and flattering on, and I love that neutral colour. The fact that it's leather makes it even better..Any help?

I have also picked up two jumpers from Zara. The pictures above show the first one I bought which I think is so flattering. Who doesn't love a black jumper? From the front it looks like your average useful jumper, but at the back, as you can see from the second picture, it has a deep V cut out of it (excuse my bra). This jumper looks wicked with super skinny jeans or leather look leggings and boots. As i'm blonde, black seems to just suit me and flatter me, so this jumper is a big thumbs up from me, and it was only £24.99.

The second one is almost like a jumper dress. You'd probably have to be quite brave to wear it as a dress haha, but I think it looks great with ripped skinnies, leggings or some patterned trousers. I LOVE the look of an oversized jumper and I also LOVE roll necks, so once again, Zara has killed it! PLUS, it was only £19.99 which I think is amazing value.

Lastly, I went to Brandy Melville for the first time! It is such an adorable shop. Really cute, laid back and comfy clothing. Really reminded me of Urban Outfitters. If you want to check it out, theres one just off Carnaby st, Fouberts Place. I bought this super cute silver ring with a clear gem in the middle, and this long chain silver necklace with two conjoined circles in the bottom which I will get so much wear out of. I'm really into silver jewellery at the moment, I think it looks so chic and sophisticated.

SO, thats the last of my November haul in pictures.
Please ask me any questions if you want to know more about the items!

Mini Skincare Haul..

I've already managed to almost get through all of my simple skincare products, so I needed to go to Boots and Superdrug and pick up a few bits. I wanted to try something different, something that would make my skin feel clean and fresh and make sure I get read of all make up and impurities on my face. So down below I'm going to list and put photos of all the new products i've bought and what I think about them.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
This product really appealed to me as it is a clear liquid which doesn't look like it would irritate your skin and it just looks pure and clean! It isn't fragranced which is better for sensitive skin, and it basically just removes all of your make up and cleanses your skin as well. It is really gentle, and as I do have sensitive skin it's really great for me. It's also really purse friendly at only about £3.50 from Superdrug.

Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Make Up Remover
Even though the Micellar water could take off my eye make up, I feel like my eyes are super sensitive and get sore really easily. So i'd rather use something which is specially designed to be especially sensitive to the eye area. This product is supposed to take off all eye make up, even waterproof, and also protect your eyelashes as well. When you use this product you don't need to rub at your eye, if you just hold a cotton pad with this liquid on it for a few seconds it should remove most of it. It doesn't leave oily or greasy residue and it is supposed to use natural ingredients. I like this product a lot and will definitely be re-purchasing!

Neutrogena spot stress control daily scrub.
So this product you put on morning and night before you cleanse your face and after you've removed your make up. It has loads of little balls (microbeads if you're being scientific) in the formula which feels really good when you're scrubbing your face, it makes it feel like you're getting all the dirt out (lol). It makes your face feel so fresh and clean after using it, and it has green tea and cucumber in the ingredients which just sounds good..I like this product!

Neutrogena Spot Stress Control Daily Cleansing Lotion.
You put this product on with a cotton pad after you put the daily scrub on. It gets rid of all excess make up and dirt and gives your face that extra clean and fresh feeling. I do feel like it reduces redness of spots and blotchiness too. I put this on morning and night and it leaves my face feeling so soft and smooth. I like also really like this product, it works really well with the daily scrub.

So thats it for my mini skin care haul! I hope you enjoy it or it helps you out if you're looking for a few new skincare bits to pick up! Please give my blog a follow if you liked this post!

All time favourite Lush bath products..

Morning! I just thought i'd do a quick blog post about how much I adore Lush bath products! When I woke up this morning, the first thing I did was run a hot bath and pop in my favourite bath bomb by lush, The Butterball. It makes me feel so soft and moisturised after having my bath and it just smells so comforting and clean. I love dropping them in your bath and just watching them fizz away.

Another one of my favs from lush is a Bubble Bar, The Comforter. I heard loads of bloggers talk about it, so a couple of months ago I tried it, and now whenever I'm near a Lush store I make sure I go in and pick up a couple. I just love how you can break a bit off and crumble it under the bath tap and it makes the bath go pink and bubbly, and smell like strawberries! If you haven't been to Lush or you haven't tried either of these products I definitely suggest you do!

The Comforter (it's really small now cause i've used so much of it haha)

Simple Skincare Lovin'..

I'm currently LOVING skincare by Simple. I have been trying loads of things out at the moment, as my skin is sensitive and does tend to break out I don't want a product that aggravates my skin however recently i've been using the Simple 'kind to skin soothing facial toner', The 'kind to eyes eye make up remover' and 'kind to eyes soothing eye balm'.

I find it really hard to find a good eye make up remover, as I want something that is soothing and isn't going to make my eyes sore and red. When I came across the simple one I was so pleased as it really is so soothing on the eyes and it removes all eye make up, even waterproof mascara. Plus, there is no irritation caused around my eyes, which usually happens with other products.

I always put toner on at night and in the mornings, as I feel it evens out my skin tone and really refreshes my skin. It removes any dirt or excess make up, and just makes my skin feel so clean and soft, which I love. I also feel that it helps keep my make up on for longer!

Lastly, I have only recently started using eye cream, but I've heard using one is really beneficial (especially if you get dark circles under your eyes, which I certainly do!). I put it on morning and night, and it feels so soothing and it reduces redness and puffiness around the eye. I also find it much easier to apply to concealer once i've used my eye cream.

All in all, I think simple products are a must! They're affordable, however they do the job perfectly. I will definitely be repurchasing!
