THE BEST SEASON FOR STYLING

Autumnal, winter clothing is my absolute favourite. I love layering clothing and the autumnal 'transitional' period is the best time to do so. The weather is still reasonably warm for November (sorry for talking about the weather AND being that person that says 'how is it November already?!').. I love layering three or four layers of clothing because you can add so many different colours, shapes and textures.

However that being said, sometimes it's a struggle to know what to layer with what without looking a bit OTT. Your favourite flowy, summer dress could be layered with a roll neck and boots.. or a denim skirt with a big oversized knit and sock boots instead of sandals and a cami top? It's all about looking in your wardrobe and experimenting with different pieces and seeing what works for you.

I mostly wore these Asos Culotte Dungarees in the summer with a t-shirt and trainers, but it actually works great with a chunky jumper and my favourite Missguided Fluffy Cardigan over the top, with my trusty converse. This outfit was perfect on a chilly October afternoon, it kept me cosy but I also didn't get too hot.

It's so easy to fall into the routine of jeans, a jumper and trainers when the weather gets cold, however I want to keep experimenting and making an effort with my Autumn Winter outfits.

Some of my absolute go tos for Autumn/Winter pieces have to be Zara, H&M  and & Other Stories (which can be a bit pricier, but their stuff is AMAZING). I always manage to find at least one item in each of these stores, which is not so fab for my bank balance..

Where is your favourite place to shop?

THE BAKER BOY HAT

It's official. I am completely obsessed with this Asos Baker Boy Hat. It's obviously been a massive trend over the transitional period and I've seen a lot of people wearing them.. and I gave in. I used to have a brown suede baker boy when I was about 9 and absolutely loved it and it seems the style has made a huge comeback into my wardrobe.

I've been stalking every blogger wearing this hat and seeing how they style it. Some of my favourites include Style Lobster, Megan Ellaby and Pretty Sickly. I spend a good 10 minutes each day scrolling through their feeds in complete awe of them and their incredible style choices.

As soon as I tried it on, I instantly loved it and knew I'd be wearing it on my weekends for the foreseeable future. I've styled it with some light blue kickflare jeans, a charcoal t-shirt, black leather jacket and my slip on checkered vans. I'm excited to style it with an oversized blazer and trainers, or a midi dress, boots and a fluffy jacket. I'm so excited for autumnal clothes it's ridiculous.

I think this hat will be a wardrobe staple right round until Spring. They are all over the high street at the moment, so many different options and prices. I picked mine up from Asos for only £16 which is amazing and the quality is great. The only slight downside is, after wearing it for about half an hour you experience the worst hat hair ever. But I guess that's sort of a first world problem..

THE TRENCH COAT: A Must Have

The Trench Coat is a classic Spring staple. I picked mine up in Rokit Vintage in Covent Garden for about £15.00 and I looooove the shape of it - it's oversized, boxy and pretty long. Every year when Spring comes around, different styles and variations of a Trench Coat come out and sometimes I can't help but endlessly scroll through Asos, Topshop, Zara and try to stop myself from ordering about 5 more..

You can style them in so many different ways and they can work for a lot of different occasions. I've styled it in a really casual way with a baggy Gingham shirt from Zara, some pleated black culottes from New Look and some white Stan Smiths - this is my favourite way to wear a trench because my style is always super chilled and casual.

You could also wear it a lot smarter with black trousers or a dress with heels for a night out or for work. I really think they're investment pieces, although don't feel like you have to spend thousands on a Burberry one, there are so many on the high street that are just as good.. I'll link some below of some great styles that are on the high street right now:

Cheap Monday Soft Trench £160

Asos Zacro Belted Trench Coat With Asymmetric Hem £50

Topshop Gingham Trench Coat £79

Topshop Nylon Trench Coat £79

Mango Cotton Trench Coat £59.99

Mango Short Trench £69.99

Happy Shopping!

CHILLED DAY CHILLED OUTFIT

So the weather has actually been reasonably lovely over the past week, which always seems a bit of a shock to the system and I completely forget how to dress for warm weather. I'm a big fan of super chilled, comfy outfits and some wide leg trousers and a plain t-shirt is my ideal relaxed outfit at the moment.

It's also really nice to wear my h&m Birkenstock-esque sandals again and not to just wear trainers constantly. I really hope they bring these out again this wear, or some sort of version as I've worn mine to death and they are the comfiest shoes I own!
